The Lumi Bed Swing — Handcrafted Macramé, Ivory

Quiet, composed, and beautifully proportioned. The Lumi is a 60" round bed swing hand-knotted from 10mm macramé poly cotton cords in soft ivory, with a rising canopy frame that fills a room without weighing it down. Light passes gently through the weave, shifting through the day as the sun moves — making it as much a living part of the room as the furniture it sits above.

Slightly more compact than the Liora, the Lumi is the ideal choice for living rooms, bedrooms, or covered outdoor spaces where you want the full bed swing experience without requiring a vast footprint.

Suitable for indoor use and covered outdoor areas. Not recommended for prolonged direct exposure to heavy rain or harsh UV without a cover.

Installation

The swing hangs from a single ceiling hook (not included). A load-rated hook must be installed by a licensed carpenter or tradie into a structural ceiling beam or joist — plasterboard (gyprock) alone cannot support this swing. The Lumi's canopy adds height to the overall form, so a ceiling clearance of at least 280–300 cm is recommended for comfortable hanging at a usable height. Ensure a minimum of 50 cm clearance on all sides. In Australia, ceiling fixings for suspended loads should comply with AS 1170 structural loading standards — consult a licensed builder if unsure. For outdoor installation, use stainless steel or galvanised hardware. Once the hook is in place, the swing is self-installation.

Care instructions

• Swing frame: Dust 2–3 times per week. Spot clean with diluted antiseptic spray (e.g. diluted Dettol). Dry clean only — do not machine wash or submerge.
• Mattress and cushions: Remove and hand wash gently in cool water. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
• Food stains: Alcohol wipes can be used on fabric surfaces.
• For extended outdoor use in Australia's high-UV climate, use a weather cover when not in use to preserve colour and fibre integrity.
• Inspect suspension knots and hanging hardware every 3 months.
• Do not exceed the 200 kg weight capacity.
